‘Bigg Boss 8’ – Did Karishma Manage To Annoy Salman Too?
Over the last seasons of ‘Bigg Boss’, Salman has had very evident favourites, and not-so-favoutites. Although he tries his level best to maintain a neutral stance while hosting the show, he sometimes takes hilarious subtle digs at the not so favourite contestants. This season, it was a different story though. No one really stood out as a a favourite, or least favourite. But this weekend, things seemed to take a turn. Salman took, not two, not ten, but several digs at Karishma Tanna on both days.
It all started with him telling Karishma that he understood her point of view on the whole Sushant vs. make up controversy and he understood that make up was important. While Salman was quite clearly sarcastic, Karishma just didn’t get the hint and even clapped and heaved a sigh of relief at the fact that someone was finally understanding her. And yes, it did take her a little while to get the sarcasm.
Salman seemed to be in full mood to take Karishma’s case as he went on to talk about “national television”, Karishma Tanna’s often used words and even spoke about Karishma’s kitchen control. At one point, he even told Sonali that she wasn’t looking too good, but then said he got confused because that was actually Karishma’s shot and not hers.
When Sophie Choudry came on the show as a panelist this Sunday, she too, raised the topic of make up over Sushant too. The VJ and singer told Karishma that she found nothing wrong in her decision and Salman seemed to agree too. He then compared it to a date and asked Karishma if she would go on a date without make up, to which she said yes. Taking a subtle dig here again, Salman told her that she will go, but who will take her?
Sophie Choudry then told Karishma that she comes across as someone who is confused and needed a stronger identity. To this, Salman, true to his style replied that the confusion was Karishma’s strong identity.
When it came to eviction, there was still no respite for the television actress as it was Sushant’s turn to leave the house. During the task that Karishma did with Gautam, there was a chance she could have saved him, but chose not to do so. Salman kept repeating this point and it almost seemed that he wanted to get a reaction out of Sushant. Most viewers hoped such a reaction would come through, but Sushant remained calm. Even when he had the option of freeing Puneet Issar from jail and making someone a servant instead, he chose not to make anyone a servant in the house and let Puneet stay in jail. He even told Salman that while Karishma’s actions may have hurt him, he will never do something like that to a friend, and hence will never make her a servant in the house.
But coming back to Salman Khan, while it’s too early to say that Salman is annoyed with Karishma, we definitely look forward to seeing how he behaved with her next weekend.
