A Film On Captain Cool Starring Shushant Singh Rajput
It won’t be unfair if Shushant Singh Rajput is regarded as the paradigm of a Bollywood success with unconventional looks blend with extraordinary acting potential. He has made a couple of interesting choices and dared to reject director Abhishek Kapoor’s film, the one who gave him a break in Bollywood, in order to work on other projects. He still manages to share a good rapport with the director and has a couple of good projects in his kitty.
Born in the state of Bihar, Shushant made his acting debut with t.v. soaps. He was one of the leading faces on television in his period as a t.v. actor, being a part of superhit soaps like Kiss Des Mein hai Mera Dil and the lead of Pavitra Rishta. Ever since, he has been in news for all the right reasons – be it his Bollywood break, critical appreciation, his project selection or loyalty with girlfriend Ankita Lokhande.
Recently he is being talked about for having chosen to play the star cricketer M.S. Dhoni in his biopic of the name M.S Dhoni: The Untold Story. The film has been directed by Neeraj Pandey and slated to release in 2015. Neeraj’s suspense dramas A Wednesday and Special 26 have thrilled us and his Total Siyapaa given us a sweet taste of cross border romance. With this new project we are bound to therefore be excited and expecting some good cinema in 2015. Here is the announcement poster of the film –
After promising performances in Kai Po Che and Shudh Desi Romance expectations from Shushant is very high. What is intriguing about the film is that Shushant, Neeraj and Dhoni all hail from Bihar (Jharkhand included). They are the rare small town heroes who have made it big in their respective fields only with constant hard work, dedication, passion and will power. A project that blends the three is naturally to be very powerful and inspiring.
Following the success of recently released biopics Bhag Milkha Bhag and Mary Kom this one too can be excepted to be huge. Dhoni has an immense fan following in the country and needless to say cricket is a religion in India. Biopics on sports icon is a gem of an idea as they give a distinct identity and acknowledgment to the struggles of these stars. The otherwise untold sides of their lives get reviled on a larger than life platform and inspire a great deal. MS Dhoni’s life before he rose to fame has not been any easier than legends like Milkha Singh and Mary Kom. Of belonging to where he belongs, he has had his own share of struggles and crossed many hurdles.
This shall be a must watch movie for every aspiring cricketer, young sportsmen and especially all small town dreamers. Shushant Singh Rajput is also working on Detective Bomkesh Bakshi in the meanwhile.
Dhoni’’s calmness, his humility and humbleness are well known and after a recent meeting with the cricketer Shushant said “I was blown away by his personality. He is a unique amalgamation of hard work, intelligence, patriotism, humility, passion and God-like inner peace. I am looking forward to many such conversations with him to carefully understand why he is the way he is, so that I can honestly portray him on screen”, to a local daily. In the same interview he also said “it’s for Dhoni, he is an inspiration, and is loved by millions. The incredible response after the [film’s] announcement only punctuates the massiveness of the project, and we will make sure the biopic transcends general expectations”.
He also stars in PK. The poster of the films are already creating a buzz with Mr. Perfectionist Amir Khan’s eccentric outfits and avatars. For all Shushant Rajput fans it will be a treat to watch him share screen space with superstars like Amir Khan and Sanjay Dutt. All of his is upcoming movies is sure to bind the audience and hopefully this time too Shushant will not disappoint.
