Salman Khan’s ‘Muscle Tussle

It seems that ‘Biopics’ are in these days. With many sports biopics from ‘Bhaag Milkha Bhaag’ to ‘Mary Kom’ succeeding commercially, the latest buzz is that Salman Khan has decided to boost wrestling through his upcoming film.

Varinder Singh Ghuman, one and only Indian vegetarian wrestler who will be making a foray into Bollywood with Kamal Sadanand’s upcoming film ‘Roar – Tigers of the Sunderbans’.Super Star Salman Khan will not only be producing the Gama Pehlwan’s biopic, but the dishy actor has also apparently offered a meaty role to popular wrestler Varinder Singh Ghuman in the film.

Divulging into further details about his meeting with superstar Salman Khan, Varinder Singh Ghuman revealed that Salman Khan dotted him during his rehearsals for an action sequence with Allan Amin for his upcoming film Roar – Tigers of the Sunderbans and decided to talk to him about his upcoming film. In fact, Varinder further added that the role that Salman had offered him was for the film ‘Sher Khan’ that is to be produced by his brother Sohail Khan. Though, ‘Sher Khan’ has been delayed owing to certain issues and hence, knowing the generous nature of Salman Khan the actor decided to propose yet another role to Varinder in the forthcoming Gama Pehlwan’s biopic.

Though Varinder remained silent about his character in the film, he still cited that he will be playing a wrestler in it. The biopic on the popular wrestler, Gama Pehlwan, is said to cast Sohail Khan in the lead and it is to be directed by Puneet Issar who is currently one of the contenders in Bigg Boss season 8.

Also the film is said to have created a rift between Salman Khan and John Abraham, as the latter is too keen on producing a film on a similar subject which is said to be directed by actor turned filmmaker, Parmeet Sethi.
