PK is baying for bone @Modi
Dhananjay Kumar
New Delhi, December 17: PK wants PM Modi, right now the toast of the whole country, to be in splits.
The actor is trying hard to rope in PM Modi as one of his select audiences for his film PK which is being released on 19 December with a lot of fanfare. He wants to tickle Modi’s funny bones through his antics in the film. He has proposed to organize a special screening for Modi. According to sources, PK is getting feelers he might win Modi as his premium spectator.
Though Modi is not a film buff like his mentor L.K. Advani but neither is he a completely ‘dry’ man as his tough exterior often suggests. Sources say Modi might want to let his hair down through watching Amir aka PK’s antics and theatrics after braving double whammy of facing a belligerent opposition in parliament and having to have whirlwind election tours to garner votes for his party in Jammu and Kashmir and Jharkhand. A dose of PK might prove rejuvenating for Modi and in turn may give box office boost to PK which is already being rated as a potential high grossing film.
Modi’s mentor Advani has been a big ‘fan’ of Aamir films. L.K. Advani, erstwhile iron man, melted like a child weeping inconsolably when he watched with the actor his critically acclaimed and box office hit film ‘Taare Jameen par’. This time around his film will coax Advani’s protege PM Modi to burst into peals of laughter.
Old foes have mended fences and the chemistry between PM Modi and Aamir as of now is steaming hot. Master strategist that the perfectionist Aamir is, he has lost no time in jumping onto Modi’s pop bandwagon. Unlike past rough brush with Modi, Aamir Khan is seen increasingly cozying up to NaMo these days and endorsing all his popular programs.
Modi is not without funny bones. Though his tough exterior is prohibitive but he even guffaws, not to talk laugh or mere smile. Recently Modi himself revealed his funny inner self by talking about his own child hood pranks. He revealed how in some marriage in his village, he would dangle tamarind in front of Shehnai player. As result, his mouth would water and would make Shehnai playing difficult.
In the hindsight, Aamir once was Modi foe like that of Smriti Irani, the current HRD Minister. The actor was in bad book of Modi when Aamir supported Narmada Bachao Andolon in Gujarat in 2006. The fallout was his film Fanna could not be screened in Gujarat.
