Dilip Kumar is recovering
Yesterday, veteran actor Dilip Kumar was hospitalized for pneumonia after he complained for cold and cough. He was admitted to Lilavati Hospital in Bandra (W).
A source close to the family said, “Dilip saab is fine. He is stable and recovering. He is in a normal room and not in ICU.”
The 91-year-old actor has been under observation at the hospital for routine check-ups.
The hospital spokesperson said that the actor was admitted for chest infection yesterday and is currently stable.
This wasn’t the first time the actor fell sick. Last year in September, the actor had suffered a heart attack.
He was born in Peshawar on December 11, 1922 and was named Muhammad Yusuf Khan. Later he changed his name. His acting career spanned six decades with over 60 films credited to his name. He has worked in iconic classics and is the ‘hero’ of the oldies.
At the time of Filmfare’s inception, he was the first to bag the Best Actor award in 1954. Till date he has eight wins to his credit and shares this record with the ‘Badshah of Bollywood’ Shah Rukh Khan.
For his outstanding contribution to hindi cinema, he was honoured thee Padma Bhushan in 1991 and the Dadasaheb Phalke in 1994.
