Arpita Khan has witnessed the ‘Big Fat Bollywood Indian Wedding’ without even being a Bollywood actor. But why not? She has been the little princess of the Khan family ever since childhood. Little does one know that she is the adopted child of the family.
On a footpath there was a lady beggar who was terminally ill. A person used to walk that pathway, and noticed that this lady had a little daughter. One day while on his daily walking routine, he noticed that the little girl was weeping as her mother had died. Without giving it a second thought, he held that little girl’s hand and carried her off to his home. He gave her all the basic necessities like nourishment, education, made her independent and now even gave her the happiness for a lifetime.
Wondering who that little girl is? She is none other than Arpita Khan who just had the most wonderful wedding of the year.
Salim Khan had picked her up following the death of her homeless mother who lived on the footpath near their house in Bandra.
Salim Khan feels that spending money on weddings is actually wasting money. But for his little princess, the family spent more money than the combination of the weddings that ever took place in their family. Arpita is known to be Salman’s little princess whom he would do anything for. So when he learnt that Arpita liked the Falaknuma place in Hyderabad, he booked the entire palace for whooping 2 crores. Not only that. He also put aside his sour relationship with Shah Rukh Khan and personally visited Mannat to give across the wedding invitation.
It is said that the family was in dire states before Arpita could step into their lives. And once she did tables turned and the fortunes began to grow in the family – Salman became a superstar, Arbazz became successful as a director and Sohail is running a successful nightclub in Bandra.
Although they adopted Arpita, the family didn’t change her religion and accepted her the way she was. The family believes in multi-culture – Arpita a Hindu, Sushila Charak (Salman’s mother) a Maharashtrian, and Helen and Malaika Arora Khan are Catholics. And now, Arpita has been married to a Punjabi.
Salim Khan has not only taught his children to live in harmony but has also taught them to have a large heart. No wonder, Salman Khan’s brand Being Human has helped changed the lives of many.
