Deepika Padukone was born in Copenhagen, Denmark to Ujjala and Prakash Padukone. She has a younger sister named Anisha padukone who is a golfer. Deepika, along with her family relocated to Banglore, Karnataka when she was eleven months old. She completed her schooling from Sophia High School and pre-university studies from Mount Carmel College, both in Bangaluru. Deepika was also a state-level badminton player while in high school. Deepika was completing her Bachelors in Arts (Sociology) from Indira Gandhi National Open University from Bengaluru when she debuted in movies. But her career began with modeling once she got spotted on the ramp at NLS, Bengaluru. After that she was featured in advertisements of brands like Dabur Lal Powder, Liril, Close-Up and Limca.
