Gauhar Khan Speaks Out, Slapper Unapologetic
Gauhar Khan has been all over the news lately, and for a rather depressing reason. A few days back, a man managed to bypass the security and not just get to Gauhar Khan, but even have the audacity to slap her. The reason? Her short and revealing clothes. Gauhar, who was clearly shaken up at the time, called for a press conference to speak out, about the incident.
GAUHAR’S STATEMENT
We bring you a few experts from her press conference.
“Yes, I was attacked. The physical aspect being a major part of it, but what that coward tried to do to me, I repeat, tried, mentally was even more grave. If someone is opposed to any ideologies and educated society and it’s youth, should raise their voice, protest in a peaceful manner, and have a dialogue. Not beat, attack and feel that he will be scot free. I am not here to promote any kind of dress code, or stating that one must or mustn’t wear certain clothes. I’m only here, to state, that no one, and I repeat, no one has the right to attack, hurt or torture anybody, be it a woman, or man, for exercising for what one’s personal thoughts or beliefs might be. I am proud of completeing “India’s Raw Star” and not let this cowardly attack spoil our amazing finale. I completed the shoot, post the attack, only to send a message, to all the girls, to all the women in India, to stand up against this, and keep your head held high.”
“Ek cheez mein bolna chahungi, ek bahaut acha tweet maine padha, usne kaha ki, “Gauhar got slapped for wearing a choti dress, I wish he got slapped for wearing a choti soch.” And I hope, and I trust, that the Indian judiciary will give him that slap for wearing a choti soch.”
“I assure you all, that I’m hurt, but not out. I’m shocked, but more determined, I’m injured, but stronger than ever.And may the almighty bless all mankind, because that’s what we need. ”
THE ATTACKER UNAPOLOGETIC
On the other hand, there has been an update from the attacker’s side too! The man, identified as Akil Malik, made a statement that our country has been trying so hard to fight. “Girls wearing short clothes damage the brains of youngsters” and force them to commit crimes,” he said. The man claimed that he was sexually attracted to women wearing short skirts and other men would be too. He claimed that he tried to control himself despite seeing Gauhar in revealing clothes for three days, but couldn’t take it anymore. He said that he slapped Gauhar “to teach her a lesson.”
Here’s hoping the attacker is duly punished for this incident.
