Dia Mirza’s wedding skipped by Boman Irani
Actor Dia Mirza’s wedding to her long time beau, Sahil Sangha, has been the talk of the town for a few weeks now, especially the past weekend when the couple tied the knot.
From her attire to the guestlist, everyone was dressed at their very best to be a part of the celebrations. But something went amiss. It was Boman Irani! Although she lost her father a long time ago, she considered Boman Irani as her father. He had given her his word that he would perform the rituals when she gets hitched but on Saturday, the day of the wedding, Boman (said to be a man of words and strong friendship bonds) was absent for the wedding and to perform Dia’s kanyadaan.
His no show left her shocked and teary eyed. The actor couldn’t believe that the person whom she considered her father had ditched her on the most important day of her life.A friend who doesn’t wish to be named stated that Boman’s absence left not only Dia but the guests as well in shock. Everyone knew of the bond they shared and his absence got the rumour mills ticking for news. Dia is known for her life-long commitments and is a wonderful person by nature.
Boman’s excuse for his absence was the promotional spree of his upcoming Diwali release, Happy New Year.
Dia and Boman’s bond dates back to the time when they both worked together in Raj Kumar Hirani’s film: Lage Raho Munnabhai. In the film, Boman and Dia had played the role of a father and daughter respectively. She was the manglik daughter and the father went all out his way to keep her happy and get her married. Hence, it’s surprising that reality witnessed a different face.
