1. Nawazuddin Siddiqui is from Budhana, a small town of Muzaffarnagar district in Uttar Pradesh from a Muslim family, where his father is a farmer. Siddiqui grew up with his nine siblings, seven brothers and two sisters.

2. In Nawaz’s native village, there was no movie theatre. To see a film Nawaz and his siblings had to travel to the nearest town, which was, wait for it.. 45 kilometers away!

3. As a child, Nawaz would stand in front of the mirror and enact scenes that played in his head. In his entire growing-up years, Nawaz saw no more than 5 films. No impact of World Cinema here!

4. After graduating in science from Gurukul Kangri University in Haridwar, Uttarakand, Nawaz worked as a chemist in a petrochemical company for a short while. Later, he moved to Delhi, where he worked as a watchman!

5. After one year there, he joined a theatre group and started watching plays, while working as a watchman at an office.

6. Nawazuddin was married at a very young age. His wife lived in his native village while he struggled to become an actor in Mumbai. Now, she stays with Nawaz along with their only daughter.

7. While kissing his co-star Niharika Singh in Miss Lovely, Nawaz confessed he had never kissed a woman before, not even his wife! Nawaz also confessed that he enjoyed his belated first kiss. What the!!
